This research demonstrates an improved process for 3D surface reconstruction in radome design, indicating advancements in point cloud data application.
This article optimizes the collection and processing process of point cloud data to complete 3D surface reconstruction. Under the condition that the distance between the outer and inner surfaces of the radome is known, secondary development is carried out based on the CATIA software system to achieve automatic generation of the surface. By combining point cloud modeling technology with CATIA 3D modeling software, a program for generating the inner surface of a radome has been developed. This program has the advantages of high simulation accuracy, simple operation steps, and a good human-machine interface, further expanding the application space of 3D point cloud technology and providing a good tool and development means for modeling variable thickness radome.
