Numerical calculations reveal temperature distribution in thermionic cathodes, implying enhanced performance through induction heating.
A numerical calculation of electron trajectories was carried out based on a hierarchical coupled model of cathode induction heating. The distribution of magnetic and electric fields generated by the inductor current was computed, which defines the boundary conditions for solving the total current equation and calculating current distribution in the device components. As a result, the temperature distribution within the cathode is established. The spatial distribution of physical properties within the cathode is taken into account in all energy conversion processes.
