The concept of sustainable development and the circular economy represents a solution to the crucial issue of the state of the environment on a global scale. Sustainable development aims to ensure progress in harmony with economic, environmental and social aspects. The main objective is to find efficient solutions to prevent pollution of the environment through sustainable production and consumption of textiles and clothing. In this paper, an environmental awareness survey was conducted among the younger population to understand the global environmental issues. It is safe to say that any positive change on a global level starts with the constructive and critical thinking and actions of individuals on a local level. According to the survey results, the younger generation is very aware of the impact of the fashion industry as a polluter on a global scale and believes that it can have a positive impact on reducing pollution.
