Development reveals a novel temperature sensor with sensitivity of 4.256 nm°C⁻¹, aiding biological and medical research.
This paper presents a solution for implementing a miniature temperature sensor based on the Fabry-Perot interferometer for use in biological and medical research. The process of manufacturing a sensing element based on an optical fiber and a borosilicate tube is described. An algorithm for selecting the optimal length of the interferometer working medium is presented. In the experimental part of the work, the dependence of the shift of spectral characteristics under temperature exposure in the range from Tmin = 30 °C to Tmax = 50 °C. The sensitivity was 4.256 nm×°C⁻¹.
