Analysis reveals electric fields adjust semiconductor transition in topological dirac semimetals, suggesting new control methods.
We study the magnetic transport properties of topological Dirac semimetals (TDSMs) slabs through the analysis of Hall and longitudinal conductivities, as well as resistivities. Our findings reveal that the transition of the system's properties from a semimetal to a semiconductor can be controlled by adjusting the external electric field. Simultaneously, the topological phase of the system can be manipulated by varying the magnetic field. The discovery of additional Hall plateaus and peaks in longitudinal conductivity further enriches our understanding of the conductivities in TDSMs. Furthermore, we provide comprehensive analyses of the effects of electric field, magnetic field, temperature, and carrier concentration on the Hall and longitudinal conductivities, as well as resistivities in Cd₃As₂ and Na₃Bi.
