Case study demonstrates improved project efficiency and sustainability in housing design, highlighting BIM's role.
The growing demand for healthy and efficient buildings drives the use of digital technologies and certifications in the construction industry. This study investigates the feasibility of integrating BIM with the WELL certification in the design of a housing development. As a case study, a project was developed on an underutilized plot in downtown Florianópolis, applying WELL guidelines to architectural modeling in Revit and performing project coordination in Solibri. The results show that BIM facilitates the implementation of WELL requirements, improves project efficiency, and optimizes planning, minimizing execution errors. Additionally, integrating sustainable certifications supports environmental and well-being guidelines from the early design stages. Thus, the study reinforces the role of BIM and certifications as tools to enhance the quality of built spaces and promote resilient buildings aligned with the UN 2030 Agenda SDGs.
