Genome assembly reveals two haplotypes of Lasiocampa quercus, suggesting insights into Lepidoptera genetics.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of <ns3:italic>Lasiocampa quercus</ns3:italic> (Oak Eggar; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Lasiocampidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 566.08 megabases and 523.83 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.95%) is scaffolded into 24 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.44 kilobases.</ns3:p>
