Abstract

High‐entropy alloys (HEAs) have garnered significant attention due to their exceptional structural and mechanical properties. In recent years, the development of lightweight HEAs (LWHEAs) has become a focal point, as these materials incorporate a large proportion of light elements such as Al, Mg, Li, and Ti. LWHEAs have shown great potential in industries that require weight reduction, such as aerospace and transportation. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the development of LWHEAs, focusing on design principles for single‐phase solid solution alloys. It discusses their structure, properties, fabrication processes, and highlights potential directions for future research.
