The article is devoted to an urgent problem – the presentation of the strategic priorities of two states – the Rus-sian Federation and the People’s Republic of China – in relation to the Arctic, which is especially important due to the spread of anti-Russian sanctions and the intensification of the geopolitical conflict in Ukraine. It was found out that Russia is seriously concerned about the problems of global warming, as well as it lacks the ap-propriate technologies, and therefore it focuses on the industrial development of the region, considering re-spect for the environment. China, on the other hand, seeks to interact with other countries by adopting bilateral agreements. The State is also promoting initiatives related to the Northern Sea Route. The main areas of their cooperation were also considered: research activities, mining, exchange of experience between educational institutions, etc. This made it possible to identify key models of cross-country cooperation: the oil and gas indus-try (resource and investment), transport logistics, development of communication infrastructure (transport and logistics), research activities (scientific).
