Experimental results demonstrate Ni2+ improves photocatalytic activity for mercury removal, indicating structural advantages.
In this study, Ni 2+ -doped Bi 4 O 5 I 2 photocatalysts were successfully synthesized for mercury removal. The experimental results demonstrated that Ni 2+ doping significantly enhanced the photocatalytic activity, achieving a maximum removal efficiency of 78.1%. To elucidate the underlying mechanisms, comprehensive characterization analyses were conducted. The results revealed that the doped photocatalysts exhibited a mesoporous structure and larger specific surface area, which facilitated charge carrier transport. Moreover, the introduction of Ni 2+ induced surface defects to capture electrons, effectively improving the electron transfer efficiency.
