Experimental analysis reveals laser diffuse reflection characteristics in non-line-of-sight environments, suggesting effective communication strategies.
Laser diffuse reflection communication technology provides a new approach for reliable communication in complex battlefield environments due to its non-line-of-sight (NLOS) transmission characteristics. However, Lambert's cosine law under normal incidence cannot accurately describe the three-dimensional diffuse reflection behavior when laser is obliquely incident. By building an experimental system, the optical power at different reflection angles in vertical and horizontal directions was measured when the laser obliquely incident on the surfaces of cardboard and camouflage cloth. The experimental results show that the received optical power still decreases with the increase of the receiving angle according to the cosine relationship, but the center point of the cosine curve shifts to the specular reflection direction, and the power continues to decrease after exceeding 90° on the incident direction side.
