Computer modelling reveals a 6% temperature decrease in LEDs with higher adhesive layer thermal conductivity, highlighting material effects.
Using computer modelling in the Ansys simulation software package, the effect of the thermal conductivity of the adhesive layer between the LED crystal and the SMD 3528 housing was investigated. Three types of crystals and three types of adhesive compositions were selected for the study, one of which is a synthesized composite material with high thermal conductivity. Thermal modelling has shown that an increase in the thermal conductivity coefficient of the adhesive layer from 2 W/(m· K) to 390 W/(m· K) leads to a decrease in temperature by no more than 6 %.
