Analysis shows minimum weight concentration of fissionable nuclei is 3 · 10-8 from thermal neutrons, suggesting practical application in nuclear research.
The possibility of using the multiplicity spectrometer for determination of fissionable nuclei content by means of active and indestructible method when research sample is irradiated by thermal neutrons from reactor is discussed. The calculated values of the minimum relative weight concentration of the fissionable nuclei and maximum weight of the research sample matrix equal 3 · 10-8 and 170 g correspondingly. The results of the calculations are confirmed by preliminary measurements when the natural uranium and silicon are irradiated by neutrons.
