Analysis reveals distortion in interior wave functions of weakly-bound particles in electric fields, suggesting complex interactions with heavy nuclei.
Close expression for the interior wave function of the weakly-bound particle in the external electrical field has been obtained. The approximate analytical representation of these functions was found. It is shown that in the electrical field of heavy nuclei the interior stationary state of weakly-bound particle is transformed into the quasi-stationary one (the particle polarization or break up). It leads to significant distorting of interior wave functions. It has been shown that the spherical symmetry of this function is broken even as particle moves to the force source.
