Research reveals design improvements for folding device deployment using pyrotechnics cylinder and numerical simulations.
The pyrotechnics cylinder is a release device widely used in aerospace. It is applied to the rapid release or deployment of devices. Currently, in the process of pyrotechnics cylinder pushing the folding device to deploy, trial-and-error experimental methods are generally employed, which results in numerical simulations lagging behind the design. Numerical simulations fail to provide guidance for the design of the pyrotechnics cylinder. Focusing on the dynamic process of folding device deployment driven by a pyrotechnic cylinder with a buffer damping structure, an interior ballistics mathematical model is established to calculate the pressure changes inside the cylinder and the dynamic parameters of the folding device deployment. By designing a hydraulic damping device to reduce the deployment shock, the deployment shock is effectively mitigated, providing a reference for the design of both the pyrotechnics cylinder and the folding device.
