Exploratory factor analysis reveals challenges and opportunities for smart agriculture adoption in Vietnam, indicating pathways for sustainable development.
The development of smart agriculture brings many opportunities and challenges to the world’s agricultural production and consumption chain. The application of smart technology is an inevitable path for every country in the world to achieve the goal of sustainable agricultural development. Internet of things (IoT) is a core technology that contributes to the digitalization of production and business activities to consumer processing through sensors, operating technology and automation. The study systematizes the concepts of IoT in smart agricultural development and finds the main factors affecting the ability to apply IoT in the case of Vietnam. Research data was collected from 230 questionnaires through direct surveys in agricultural residential areas, cooperatives and smart agricultural production zones in Vietnam. Factors affecting the ability to deploy IoT were discovered through the method Exploratory Factor Analysis method (EFA) processed with IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 software. The research results provide a practical basis to help policy makers build IoT development strategies in Vietnam in particular and developing countries in general.
