Experimental validation revealed a 5.07-fold increase in reverse thermal resistance, suggesting significant heat transfer improvement.
To address the limitations of isotropic heat transfer in conventional heat pipes, a novel thermal diode with a three-dimensional wedge-shaped liquid channel is proposed. A comprehensive study combining numerical simulations and experimental validation was conducted to investigate the thermal performance of the proposed structure. Experimental results demonstrate that the thermal resistance in the reverse direction is 5.07 times higher than in the forward direction under a 25% filling ratio and 5 W heating power, with the forward and reverse thermal resistances measured at 0.81 °C/W and 4.11 °C/W, respectively, confirming exceptional heat rectification capability.
