This research proposes a system utilizing OCR technology and collaborative learning features to improve study materials and self-directed study effectiveness.
After the COVID-19 pandemic, the education system rapidly shifted to cyber-based learning. As a result, there was a sharp increase in demand for online lectures, but the issue of lacking study materials remained unresolved. In particular, video-only lectures make it difficult for learners to organize and review content effectively. To address this issue, this study proposes a system that automatically extracts PDF materials from lecture videos. The extracted materials are processed using OCR technology, allowing users to convert them into text and add their own notes. Additionally, users can store and repeatedly memorize key terms, facilitating more efficient learning. A calendar feature is available to help users plan and manage their study schedules. Moreover, a sharing system enables collaborative learning by allowing users to exchange study materials. This system is designed to enhance the effectiveness of online learning and promote self-directed study. Therefore, this research provides a crucial solution for improving the quality of online learning environments.
