This study examines the perceptions of secondary school principals regarding the quality of education. This research is part of a broader study on the perceptions of secondary school principals as evaluators of teachers. Through semi-structured interviews with eight school principals, the multidimensional nature of quality and the factors influencing it were explored. The findings highlighted the variation in participants" perceptions, with some equating quality with academic performance, while others emphasized the development of well-rounded citizens, school climate, and the cultivation of humanitarian values. At the same time, a lack of a commonly accepted framework for defining quality was identified, which affects the implementation of evaluation processes. The principals underscored the importance of balancing quantitative and qualitative criteria, while also expressing reservations about whether the existing evaluation tools accurately capture the true quality of education.
