This strategy combines H∞ Luenberger observer and H2/H∞ model predictive controller for enhanced PMSM speed and current control, indicating improved performance under varying conditions.
This work presents a new way for controlling Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) speed control with ongoing high performance through different operating conditions. The control system consist of two primary components, the speed control and current control. The actuator for the speed control is a new speed controller that is built off principles of H₂/H∞ model predictive control to offer a q-axis reference stator current that used the strengths of the two performance indexes to reduce uncertainties and remove chattering, while the actuation of the current control is the design of a H∞ Luenberger observer that used the least amount of error for questing the load torque and allowed for adapting to change the reference current in light of change in the load, estimated the reference current would then be provided to a proportional-derivative (PD) current controller to create the voltages required at the dq axes. The performance of the proposed strategy is validated by comprehensive experimental studies to provide evidence of the strategy offering potential for high-performance PMSM applications.
