Informal research explores students' experiences with an electronic assessment system in junior high school, indicating areas for improvement.
The evolution of the Internet and the introduction of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in teaching, brought innovative and modern approaches to the learning process, offering new possibilities in the evaluation of learners based on the use of computers and web 2.0 technology by creating electronic assesment (EA). This paper presents the framework, methodology and result of an informal research on the implementation of an electronic assessment system (EAS) used in the 1st Junior High School of Alexandria for two consecutive school years for the needs of the Informatics course. The development of this system was done by utilizing the tools provided by the electronic classroom (e-class) service of the Panhellenic School Network (PSD). The research involved students from all three classes of Junior High School who were evaluated electronically with the above system and expressed the views from this experience through an anonymous questionnaire of a few questions. The purpose of the research was to investigate the views of the participants in order to draw useful conclusions from the implementation of the EAS.
