This study examines the regenerative capacity of nodal and dormant buds in grapevine varieties, implying varietal specificity.
A study was carried out to investigate the regenerative ability of nodal and dormant buds in grapevine varieties from three ecological and geographical groups. The aim of this study was to obtain information on the level of recovery potential of dessert and wine grape varieties of three eco-geographical groups after exposure to stress factors. It was found that varietal specificity exists in the variation of the studied indicators. The variety with the highest total number of developed shoots was Pamid, followed by Bolgar and Cabernet Sauvignon; of fruiting shoots - Cabernet Sau-vignon, Pamid and Bolgar, the highest fruitful-ness was in Pamid, Cabernet Sauvignon and Bolgar. The yield of grapes obtained from shoots developed from nodal and dormant buds in Bolgar represented 50.53 % of the control, in Pamid 30.94 % and in Cabernet Sauvignon 21.06 %. The variation in these indicators is the highest. The bunch weight of the three va-rieties was highest in shoots borne from winter buds, followed by nodal buds and dormant buds. There were no significant technological differences between the two variants in the sugar and titratable acid content of the grapes of the different varieties.
