This review analyzes the impact of welding methods on chromium-nickel steels and titanium alloys, indicating laser welding can exceed titanium's strength.
The paper reviews the data of the scientific and technical literature on challenges in the production of permanent joints of chromium-nickel steels and titanium alloys. It analyzes the results of studying the effect of welding methods on the structure and properties of joints. Laser welding is shown to form a welded joint with a strength exceeding that of titanium. A comparative analysis of the use of intermediate inserts in laser welding of chromium-nickel steels and titanium alloys is given. Changes in the structural state of a laser-welded joint are considered, which allow phase formation in welds and their strength to be controlled.
