Observational analysis shows arterial stiffness and mean arterial pressure linked to renin and aldosterone in primary hyperparathyroidism.
Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is associated with cardiovascular mortality and hypertension. Arterial stiffness is a predictor of cardiovascular events. The aim of this study is to investigate arterial stiffness, and daytime and nighttime mean arterial pressures in patients with PHPT using 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) and to reveal their relationship with renin, aldosterone, and other biochemical parameters.
