Comparative analysis reveals elastomeric paint significantly lowers internal temperature and alters humidity patterns in industrial sheds.
This study investigates the impact of applying elastomeric paint on the internal temperature and humidity of industrial sheds, comparing two identical structures built with galvanized steel roof tiles. In Shed 1, the elastomeric paint was applied to the roof, while in Shed 2 there was no intervention. The measurements were taken using dataloggers, monitoring the internal temperatures and humidity, as well as external temperature and humidity.. The results show that, throughout the day, the application of the paint significantly reduced the internal temperature of Shed 1 compared to Shed 2, reaching an average difference of approximately 2∘C between 07:00 and 17:00. However, between 00:00 and 07:00, the temperature in Shed 1 remained higher than that in Shed 2. At the same time, a significant difference was observed in the internal relative humidity patterns, with higher values in Shed 1 throughout the day, while the external humidity showed higher values only between 00:00 and 07:00.
