Study of the Nossa Senhora das Necessidades Church intervention's history

The Nossa Senhora das Necessidades Church, located in Florianopolis, is one of the oldest in the region and a beautiful example of baroque architecture. This building is in a good state of preservation, and so are the wooden carvings inside. This article aims to provide a historical survey of architectural interventions carried out in this church in order to provide better management of the property. The methods used to develop the research were: bibliographic review, technical visits to the church and interviews. As a result, there were records of 18 moments of intervention on the building, with a concentration of interventions in the 1980s. Traces of significant architectural interventions that are not mentioned in the files were also noted. The data collected contributes to a greater understanding of the church's history, and the information can help diagnose pathologies and contribute to the management of this significant heritage asset.
