This analysis explores how climate change impacts energy systems, suggesting integrated approaches for sustainable energy development.
The article is devoted to the problems of functioning of the global energy infrastructure in the era of the Anthropocene, characterized by increased environmental uncertainty. The negative effects of climate change on the performance of energy systems, such as hurricanes, temperature anomalies and sea level rise, are considered. The reasons for the growth of physical and social vulnerability are analyzed, and scenarios of catastrophic consequences of natural disasters are presented. A new approach to sustainable energy development based on the integration of achievements in engineering, ecology and social sciences is proposed. Special attention is paid to taking into account the social context and cultural heritage of the regions when making strategic decisions. These recommendations are aimed at reducing the negative effects of climate change and ensuring reliable energy supply.
