Analysis reveals ecological contradictions in agro-industrial production, suggesting pathways for sustainable development.
A comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of greening the agro-industrial production as a key vector for ensuring its sustainable development was carried out. Based on the summary of the theo-retical approaches and empirical data, the essence of the ecological and economic contradictions in-herent in the modern agricultural sector were studied, and the lack of an alternative to the transition to the nature-saving economic models was substantiated. The research was focused on studying the problems and prospects of greening the agro-industrial production on the example of the Rostov Region, one of the leading agricultural regions of Russia. A conceptual model of greening the regional agro-industrial production was proposed in the form of a structured mechanism integrating strategic, technological and supporting elements aimed at harmonization of the objectives of the agro-industrial production and the environmental safety requirements.
