Case study shows successful alveolar cleft repair in an 18-year-old patient using iliac crest graft, indicating biomaterials enhance recovery.
Introduction- Secondary alveolar bone grafting may be crucial for individulas who show in late adolescent stage and may present with unique esthetic challenges. This case report aims to describe the surgical rehabilitation of a 18 year fema Patient and Method- le patient with unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) who underwent a late secondary alveolar bone grafting with iliac crest bone graft. To improve the surgical outcome, tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) have been used as supplemental grafting materials. Following surgery, recovery was found to be uneventful and satisfactory with sufficient bone growth. Better clinical outcomes are achi Conclusion- eved through the use of autologous grafts, the effectiveness of a biomaterial, and PRF that supports its adoption in clinical practice.
