Analysis demonstrates infrastructure challenges in the Asia-Pacific data center market, highlighting urgent supply chain adjustments.
This paper analyzes the demand and infrastructure construction status of data center markets in the Asia-Pacific region from the perspective of supply chain. Research shows that the scale of the Asia-Pacific digital economy has reached 5.8 trillion US dollars, giving rise to differentiated data needs: manufacturing relies on real-time production data, cross-border e-commerce requires millisecond response, and RCEP has driven a 62% surge in cross-border data flows. The DMC in the region presents a multi-polar distribution, and platforms such as Singapore's SGTraDex achieve efficient data circulation through blockchain, edge computing and other technologies, but face challenges such as insufficient computing power and standard splitting. Infrastructure bottlenecks include funding gaps in emerging markets, a shortage of skilled talent, and a lack of policy coordination. Singapore's "Digital Twin Port" program has increased its computing power by three times, verifying that infrastructure needs to dynamically adapt to industrial needs. The study points out that the construction of a unified standard, elastic computing power and privacy computing system is the key path to unleash the value of data elements in the Asia-Pacific region.
