Analysis uncovers aerodynamic interactions in pantographs using software defined network technology, highlighting design efficiencies.
This paper delves into the interaction between tunnel aerodynamics and the design of high-speed train pantographs, particularly exploring the optimization of pantograph structures within the software defined network (SDN) framework. To achieve this goal, we selected SSS400[Formula: see text]pantograph as the core research object and constructed detailed 3D CAD models and unsteady aerodynamic models. With the help of advanced numerical simulation technology, we systematically analyzed the aerodynamic characteristics of pantographs in tunnel environments, covering in-depth analysis of individual aerodynamic performance and numerical simulation of complex external flow fields. With the support of SDN technology, we further explored how to synergistically improve the geometric structure of the pantograph through flexible configuration and optimization at the software level, especially by finely designing and adjusting the carbon sliding plate part. These optimization measures aim to effectively reduce aerodynamic noise, improve aerodynamic efficiency, and ensure the stability and reliability of the pantograph when crossing tunnels at high speeds. The introduction of SDN enables us to monitor and adjust the operating status of the pantograph in real time, and dynamically optimize it based on real-time feedback from tunnel aerodynamics. In addition, we conducted a detailed simulation analysis of the dynamic performance of the pantograph, fully considering the impact of tunnel aerodynamic effects on its dynamic behavior. By simulating the operating conditions under different speeds, tunnel lengths, and shapes, we have gained a deeper understanding of the behavioral characteristics of pantographs in complex environments.
