The need of wild grown herbs as sources of medicines causes increasing their procurement volumes. The ability to manufacture drugs and control their quality cannot be realized without practical knowledge on procurement of plant raw materials. Practice in pharmacognosy which is conducted in nature is an important stage in professional training of pharmacists. It allows students to obtain necessary practical skills in the procurement, storage and standardization of plant raw materials, as well as modern methods of pharmaceutical analysis. During the practice knowledge of rational procurement, primary processing and drying of raw materials are systematized. As a result of visiting of natural plant associations careful attitude to the environment and natural resources is formed. Thus, the practice not only strengthens the professional knowledge of students, but also contributes to their further effective use of skills in pharmaceutical activities.
