Observation of Porites lobata at 4-5 m depth in Gulf of California, suggesting a range extension.
We report the observation of Porites lobata in the southern Gulf of California. Colonies were found at a depth of 4–5 m and were approximately up to 30 cm in height and between 1 and 3 m in diameter. This finding represents a range extension of the species to 23°N in the eastern Pacific.
