Retrospective analysis confirmed ultrasound diagnostics effectively detect papillary microcarcinoma in patients, suggesting critical implications for healthcare.
Goal. To evaluate the diagnostic significance of ultrasound in the detection of papillary microcarcinoma of the thyroid gland. Materials and methods. A retrospective analysis of 20 thyroid nodules was performed in patients examined at the Republican Oncological Dispensary in Makhachkala from January 2023 to May 2025. Ultrasound diagnostics was performed with an assessment of the morphological features of the nodes, followed by histological verification. Results. In the breast cancer group, hypoechoicity (85.7%), indistinct contours (85.7%) and a length-to-width ratio of ≥1 (42.9%) were more often detected, which was statistically different from the benign group. Conclusions. Ultrasound is an informative method of diagnosing breast cancer, which makes it possible to identify signs that significantly distinguish it from benign nodules.
