This research demonstrates the identification of viscous sublayer–buffer layer interfaces, revealing potential implications for frictional resistance modulation.
The viscous sublayer–buffer layer interface plays a pivotal role in the turbulence structures' drive modulation of frictional resistance distribution. The study develops a high-resolution near-wall flow field reconstruction algorithm to provide a high-precision flow field database. The viscous sublayer–buffer layer interface has been identified for the first time through multi-scale correlation analysis. The study finds that the ratio of Reynolds-to-viscous shear stress at the interface stabilizes at 10% and reveals the anti-phase coupling law between the interface dynamics and near-wall pulsation. The findings provide a theoretical foundation for elucidating the spatiotemporal coupling mechanism of turbulent structure and frictional resistance.
