In a July 29 Dear Colleague letter, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an agency with the federal Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), strongly supports the use of opioid overdose reversal medications (OORMs) – naloxone and nalmefene – and explains that these are not par of “an ideological concept of harm reduction.”
