Qualitative research demonstrates the need for action plans addressing school violence, suggesting collaboration with police for safety protocols.
This paper addresses the growing problem of violence in Brazilian schools, focusing on the phenomenon of attacks by active aggressors. Violence in Brazilian society has intensified, also impacting the school environment. Attacks by active aggressors—individuals who enter schools with the intention of causing serious harm—have become more frequent, generating fear and insecurity. Given this reality, the existence of action plans in schools to prevent and respond to these attacks, minimizing their impact, is questioned. The study aims to demonstrate the importance of an action plan with preventive and reactive measures against attacks by active aggressors, in addition to proposing safety and training protocols for the school community. This is applied and explanatory qualitative research, seeking to generate knowledge about preventive and reactive actions, deepening the understanding of the nature of these attacks and identifying factors that enable them, justifying the need for the proposed intervention. The paper concludes and proposes the need to implement an action plan in collaboration with the Military Police, aiming to provide concrete guidelines for preventing and responding to attacks by active aggressors, protecting the school community, and minimizing harm.
