Innovative upgrades enhance productivity in ethylene production, suggesting modernization is essential.
Here is the description of fundamentally new scheme of ethane-ethylene mixture separation unit. New contact devices for the separation unit of ethane-ethylene fraction of PJSC KAZAN ORGANIC SYNTHESIS are described. The known technological data of the enterprise about the available sufficient quantity of mothballed column and other equipment, and about the need for modernization of ethylene production are described. These facts in conditions of import substitution and use of domestic developments in the field of mass transfer indicate the necessity and economic feasibility of modernization of existing columns mothballed at the enterprise. In the work noted the existing issues of the enterprise at the ethane-ethylene mixture separation unit and disadvantages of existing columns on the conservation, such as low productivity due to the small free cross-section on plates, also the inter-barrel distance contributes to the transfer of splashes of the hard-to-fly component upwards, which is not good, and also, along with these disadvantages, we are all working on the scheme with a dephlegmator, which in turn is inferior in performance to the compressor. The fact of shortage of own ethylene for production of other products at the enterprise is noted. Technological inconsistencies in the work of existing columns are described. The variants of using the preserved column С-108 both as a steam and as a booster are presented. The diagram of the upgraded stages for the C-108 column is given. The work of the С-108 column with upgraded steps is described. The basic technological scheme of the modernized ethane ethylene fraction separation unit is proposed. The design characteristics of auxiliary equipment for a new circuit diagram using of the mothballed column С-108 are presented.
