Editor's Word. Design by Hudprom. The Way to Synergy

The introductory note by the editor-in-chief opens this thematic issue of «ВІСНИК ХДАДМ» dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Kharkiv School of Design (1962–2022).The author broadly outlines the complex trajectory of the school’s development — from the training of specialists at the Kharkiv Art and Industrial Institute to the transformation it into the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts in 2001. Special attention is given to the continuous dialogue between contemporary design and technical disciplines, which over time evolved into a productive synergy. The issue has a clear structure consisting of four sections: “60 Years of Design Education in Kharkiv,” “The Kharkiv School of Design: History, Fields, Personalities,” “International Partnership in the Field of Design,” and “ Sketches, Essays, Memoirs,” along with additional authorial contributions — articles and reflections. This structure highlights the key milestones in the formation of the Kharkiv design school, the evolution of leading departments, the work of distinguished designers and educators, and the school’s overall dynamic development. The author emphasizes the creative potential of combining design with art, which provides fertile ground for the school’s continued progress in response to contemporary challenges and trends. Acknowledgements are extended to the team of authors and the editorial board who contributed to this publication.
