Observational analysis shows the dependence of near zero energy electron yield on source thickness, indicating the importance of surface radioactive atoms.
For the purpose of study the near zero energy electron e0 yield dependence on source thickness for different modes of radioactive decay (β-decay, electron capture, internal conversion) of 152Eu isotope was investigated by (eγ)-coincidence method. It was shown that surface layer of radioactive atoms takes main part in e0-electron formation. The nature of this fenomen is discussed.
