Experimental investigation identifies how magnetoelastic waves respond to local magnetization changes, suggesting potential applications in magnetic field control.
Experimental investigation on standing magnetoelastic waves evidences local magnetization inhomogeneities. Output signal dependence on static magnetization of the whole sample is well known, but the effect of a magnetization variation, produced in a little portion of the sample, is poorly known. We show that the amplitude of the longitudinal waves is very sensitive to the local change of magnetization, therefore, it is a good parameter for application in devices to control the magnetic field uniformity and/or its constancy.
