This article presents the Fingerpost framework for systemic therapy training, highlighting competencies and guidance for therapists.
In this article, we present the Fingerpost, a practical guide to getting the feel of systemic therapy. The Fingerpost brings together the systems therapeutic competencies as drawn up by the Netherlands Association for Relationship and Family Therapy to provide guidance to the training courses in our profession. We describe the run-up in this process and various other instruments that have been developed over the years to guide therapists in systemic therapy practice. The Fingerpost can be effectively used as a guiding principle in systemic therapy training courses. We explain various applications of the Fingerpost, especially in the field of supervision.
