The study presents a numerical algorithm for determining optimal control speed, demonstrating its application on phthalic anhydride synthesis.
The problem of finding the optimal control speed for a chemical process, the dynamics of which is described by a system of nonlinear differential equations, is considered. The temperature of the reaction mixture acts as a control action. To solve the problem, it is proposed to apply the differential evolution method. The proposed method for solving the problem of optimal control speed is formulated as a numerical algorithm that allows obtaining a solution to the optimization problem without the need to select an initial approximation. The algorithm has been tested on an industrially significant process of phthalic anhydride synthesis.
