Quantitative analysis shows that entrepreneurial motivation significantly boosts interest in entrepreneurship among students, while technopreneur education alone does not.
This study aims to examine the influence of Technopreneur Education and Entrepreneurial Motivation on the Entrepreneurial Interest of students at FEBI UIN North Sumatra. Although technopreneurship has been introduced as part of the entrepreneurship curriculum, the practical implementation of student-led businesses remains relatively low. Internal motivation is also considered a key factor in shaping entrepreneurial interest. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 98 students from five different study programs. The analysis employed the Partial Least Square (PLS) method within the framework of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) to test the relationships between variables. The results revealed that Technopreneur Education did not have a significant effect on students’ Entrepreneurial Interest. On the other hand, Entrepreneurial Motivation had a positive and significant impact. These findings suggest that students’ entrepreneurial interest is more strongly driven by internal motivation rather than exposure to technopreneur education alone.
