Prospective cohort study demonstrates altered choroid plexus volume and susceptibility values in preeclampsia, highlighting a new diagnostic approach.
Motivation: This study aims to investigate alterations in choroid plexus volume (CPV) and susceptibility values of the choroid plexus obtained from quantitative susceptibility mapping (QSM) in patients with preeclampsia, focusing on the contributing factors of these alterations. Goal(s): The objective is to clarify the relationship between choroid plexus (Chp) function and clinical characteristics of preeclampsia patients, as well as to establish a novel diagnostic approach of Preeclampsia based on imaging. Approach: Prospective cohort study Results: Our study revealed smaller CPV and higher susceptibility values of choroid plexus in preeclampsia patients. Impact: This study introduces a novel indicator that utilizes choroid plexus volume and the QSM technique for early prediction of preeclampsia, potentially improving diagnostic accuracy and intervention strategies.
