Quantitative analysis reveals hepatocyte uptake ratio correlates with liver fibrosis, suggesting a non-invasive diagnostic tool.
Motivation: To explore a more accurate and non-invasive method for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis. Goal(s): To explore the potential of T1 mapping-related parameters, especially hepatocyte uptake ratio, for the diagnosis of liver fibrosis. Approach: Investigating the correlation between T1 mapping-related parameters and the degree of liver fibrosis and evaluating the efficiency of all parameters for diagnosing liver fibrosis. Results: Our results showed that hepatocyte uptake ratio exhibited a declining trend as the liver fibrosis progressed and outperformed serologic scores and liver-to-spleen signal intensity ratio when diagnosing liver fibrosis. Impact: To our knowledge, this study marks the first time hepatocyte uptake ratio has been used to stage liver fibrosis, which offers a fresh perspective and paves the way for more accurate evaluation for liver fibrosis in the future.
