Motivation: Spectral editing is commonly used in human brain 1H-MRS to isolate neurochemicals of interest however, spectral editing doubles scan time, is more prone to motion, and provides lower signal-to-noise ratios (SNR) efficiency. Goal(s): Our goal is to develop and validate a single-shot metabolite-selective 1H-MRS sequence to isolate two selected neurochemicals of interest simultaneously at 7T to simplify spectral modelling. Approach: We introduced/implemented double-DANTE-PRESS and assessed reproducibility within and between scans in phantoms and in vivo. Results: We were able to isolate neurochemical of interest and suppress unwanted signals higher precision and SNR efficiency. Impact: Double-DANTE-PRESS is a single-shot multi-metabolite-selective 1H-MRS sequence that can be used to access neurotransmission involving glutamate and glutathione with high precision and higher SNR efficiency while simplifying spectral modelling.
