Clinical study demonstrates improved image quality with expanded SPEEDER and super-resolution DLR in breast MRI, indicating no disruption in contrast resolution.
Motivation: Exspanded SPEEDER (Exsper) has a potential to reduce distortion artifact, and super-resolution DLR (PIQE) could improve spatial resolution and image quality on breast MRI. Goal(s): The goal was to determine utilities of Exsper and PIQE on breast MRI for improving image quality without any influence on contrast resolution and ADC evaluation as compared with conventional protocol. Approach: This clinical study examined breast MRIs by Exsper and conventional method and reconstructed with and without PIQE, and image quality indexes were statistically compared. Results: Exsper or PIQE significantly improved qualitative image qualities (p<0.05), although both techniques had no significant influence on quantitative indexes and ADC. Impact: Super-resolution DLR (i.e. PIQE) and Expanded SPEEDER had superior potential for image quality and spatial resolution improvements without any influence on contrast and ADC evaluation on breast MRI, when compared with conventional parallel imaging (SPEEDER) and reconstruction method.
