Motivation: High magnetic fields enhance SWI through higher SNR and improved contrast in iron-bearing tissues, potentially leading to better small vein identification. Goal(s): This study aims to assess to which extent 5T could improve the delineation of small veins and perivascular space in the brain when compared with 3T. Approach: Eight volunteers underwent MRI examination both at 3T and 5T MRI sequences included high resolution 2D T2WI and 3D SWI. Results: At the same resolution, 5T outperforms 3T in the visualization of veins and PVS. Impact: 5-T high-resolution SWI offers a potential alternative for the clinical assessment of cerebral small vessel diseases.
