Analysis identifies key diffusion models to differentiate pseudoprogression and true recurrence in glioma patients.
Motivation: The ability to distinguish between postoperative recurrence and pseudoprogression (PsP) in glioma patients is crucial for guiding subsequent treatment strategies. Goal(s): This study aims to evaluate whether six diffusion models derived from multi-b value diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) can accurately differentiate PsP and true recurrence (TR) in glioma patients. Approach: A total of 66 postoperative glioma patients underwent imaging multi-b value DWI at 3.0T MRI. Post-processing yielded 14 parameter maps from the six diffusion models based on multi-b value DWI. Results: Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis of these parameters indicated that FROC_D is the optimal parameter for distinguish TR and PsP. Impact: This study employed various diffusion models to conduct a preliminary analysis of the discriminative value of multi-b-value DWI techniques in the postoperative assessment of gliomas, providing a reference for the selection of diffusion models in subsequent clinical diagnosis and treatment.
